Journeys for Body, Mind and Soul
Retreat Yourself

There are journeys you take to see the world — and there are journeys you take to finally see yourself. Kokoro is a collection of immersive experiences designed for those who feel the pull toward something deeper: toward creativity, toward healing, toward silence, toward the ancient languages of the body and the soul.

These journeys weave together art, Ayurveda, movement, sound, and the raw beauty of nature. They are not vacations. Not courses. Not escapes. They are portals — carefully curated spaces where you step out of noise and into presence, where you reconnect with your inner landscape through practices that have guided humans for thousands of years.

Why Kokoro

Being a traveler, I often stumble on these small treasures — words that exist in one language and nowhere else, each one a kind of code for the culture that made it. It's said that Inuit languages have dozens of words for snow, each one distinguishing a texture or condition that English simply doesn't bother to name. The Danish have hygge — a coziness that lives less in the room than in the feeling of being in it. The Portuguese have saudade — a longing for something absent that isn't quite sadness, and isn't quite hope. Language, it turns out, is a map of what a culture has learned to notice.

One day, I stumbled on a word that stopped me: Kokoro (心) — Japanese, and untranslatable in the way that matters most. English needs three separate words to approach it — heart, mind, spirit — treating each as its own faculty. Kokoro doesn't make that split. It holds all three as one undivided thing: what you feel, what you think, and who you are, moving together rather than apart.

Our retreats don't take you to Japan. But the moment I found this word, I knew we'd found our name — because Kokoro is exactly what we've been building toward all along, in Montenegro and in India both: a practice of bringing body, mind, and soul back into that same undivided wholeness.

In Japanese thought, Kokoro is often described as the place where the inner and outer worlds meet — where what you feel inwardly shapes what you express outwardly, and what surrounds you outwardly reshapes what you feel within.

As above, so below — in a single word.

Two destinations. One intention: to bring you back to yourself.

Montenegro and India are, on the surface, worlds apart. But they share something rare: neither place tolerates pretending. Their beauty is dramatic, their nature untamed — and in both, whatever is true in you tends to surface quickly. That's not a coincidence. It's why these are the two places this work happens.

This isn't a brand built from a marketing plan. It's built from two places that changed me — Montenegro, where I've lived for eighteen years, and India, where I first learned to breathe differently. Everything here comes from time actually spent, not a trend I noticed.

Where Healing and Creativity Meet the Sea

For those fascinated by India but unsure where to begin, this is the gentlest entry point — ancient traditions, forest paths, and ocean horizons. India offers two ways to make the journey: Ayurveda & Sea, a path into purification, balance, and deep inner clarity through lineage-based Ayurvedic care; and Art & Sea, where the same creative, elemental practice found in Montenegro unfolds instead along India's quiet Malabar coast. Two paths, one country that has a way of bringing you back to yourself.

One Philosophy, Many Pathways

Whether art-based or Ayurveda-based, each retreat we offer is built around the same core principles:

Body
Nourish the body through movement and mindful cuisine
Mind
Awaken the mind through creativity, exploration, and presence
Soul
Tend to the soul through silence, nature, ritual, and connection

These journeys are intimate, intentional, and deeply human. They are crafted for those who seek meaning, beauty, and transformation — not in grand gestures, but in the quiet places where truth finally becomes audible.
